Alaska Dogberries in Summer

Dogwood trees and shrubs can generally be distinguished by their blossoms, berries, and distinctive bark. Between 30-60 species exist, with the berries of some species used both as food and medicine to fight colds and flus. The Pacific Dogwood is known for its white blooms, brilliant red berries and bright foliage in the fall.
