Named in 1867 by a party of gold prospectors, Slough Creek is a remote tributary of the Lamar River in northeastern Yellowstone. It’s considered one of the best cutthroat trout fishing locations in America and is prime habitat for grizzly bears, wolves and bison. Nighttime offers a quiet, unimpeded view of the stars and, with a little luck, a chorus of wolves howling in the darkness.
